Brooke Morris, 22, from Trelewis, a small town in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, was dropped off outside her home in the early hours of Saturday morning but did not go indoors.

Rescue parties from the valley have now fanned out across a waterway in the area surrounding Trelewis as they search for the missing woman, described by her rugby teammates are ‘one loved girl.’

South Wales Police are appealing for information

A force spokesman said: ‘Officers are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare and would urge Brooke to make contact to confirm she is safe.’

Rescue Team

The Brecon Mountain Central rescue team said: ‘High priority areas were quickly identified in and around prominent waterways and our water-trained members were deployed in those areas, some proving to be quite challenging after recent rainy periods. .

‘With further areas to be searched, we deployed hill search parties, as well as calling upon support from Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, Brecon Mountain Rescue Team and SARDA Search Dogs (South Wales) for additional search areas.
